Fact: Dioptase is an
emerald green silicate of copper. Specimens are often deeply
colored and show well-developed crystals. The faces of the crystals
are very reflective due to a fairly high luster. It is rather
soft for a gemstone and is not usually cut as a gemstone. The
drusy (crystal face) is very beautiful and suitable for pendants
if well protected.
Fancy: Dioptase is believed to relieve mental stress,
promote abundance, relaxation, love and emotional expressiveness.
